My Desire to Grow and Learn has Always Helped me Move Forward
Tell me a little about yourself.
I grew up in a small village in central Bulgaria. I have faced many adversities, but my desire to grow and learn has always helped me move forward. My interest in the furniture industry started with my first job at a local furniture manufacturer. As my career advanced, I relocated to Sofia, where my CompoLAND journey started. I have been with CompoLAND since the very beginning. At first, my biggest dream was to see the company grow - to reach more clients and deliver more furniture legs to more countries in Europe. Now that this dream is a reality, we as a team start to reimagine the role we play in the supply chain and think of ways to add even more value.
What's the most satisfying aspect of your job at CompoLAND?
I love working with people of different nationalities and exploring their perspectives on business and life. One learning I owe to all of our clients is that timely and open communication is crucial. At the end of the day, I always care if our clients are happy and ready to place another order.
Tell us about someone who has helped you become the person you are today.
I do not know if it is a person or a series of situations that I learned from. When I face a problem, I often think back to a similar issue I have had in the past, and try to remember how I responded then and what my response led to. If my response led to failure, I change it completely. Of course, we all have people we look up to, and I am no exception. At CompoLAND, for instance, I learn a lot from my boss who always manages to stay calm and see an opportunity in moments of crisis.
What's the biggest challenge and the biggest opportunity for compoLAND right now?
The biggest challenge, I think, is to secure raw materials at reasonable prices. Now that the pandemic is over, the biggest opportunity is to start traveling and have face-to-face conversations with clients. Video calls are just not that good.
What's the best thing about your life right now?
It is wonderful when something new happens and pushes me out of my comfort zone. That's exactly what is in store for me in my personal life - a big change is on the way. I will have to learn to better plan and organize my time.
If you had a magic wand, what would you wish for?
More free time and financial stability, so that I can be driven by desires, not by need, in the choices I make.
